Colorado BJJ – From Jiu Jitsu to Jiu Jitsu for Life – Team Rigan Machado – Denver – Stapleton – Greenwood Village – Englewood – Lakewood

CHAMPION!!!

We have a new Champion! CBJJ Stapleton’s Don Westman won the 205lbs Light Heavyweight Amateur Championship Belt at Kickdown 101, in Denver Colorado, on June 16, 2012, by guillotine submission at 2 minutes 59 seconds of the first round.  It was a dominate performance that not only captured the championship belt, but won “Submission of the Night” honors (see the MMA BUZZ write up at: http://www.mmabuzz.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=179%3Akick-down-101&catid=34%3Ablogs&Itemid=59)! In his post fight speech Don informed the crowd that “I am a product of my environment… I would not have won this fight if not for my training partners…” and gave special thanks to his teammates at both Team Wildman (where he does his cage-work) and CBJJ Stapleton (where he trains Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and technical striking). Way to go Don! Congratulations on earning the championship belt! Way to go CBJJ!

Josh Goldberger also fought on the Kickdown 101 card. While Josh did not obtain victory, he fought hard and lost a tough decision in a fight that earned “Fight of the Night” honors (see the MMA BUZZ write up at: http://www.mmabuzz.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=179%3Akick-down-101&catid=34%3Ablogs&Itemid=59).  Both Josh and Don are mma warriors that display all the hallmarks of CBJJ trained Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Fighters who never quit! Way to go gentlemen. We are proud to have you represent CBJJ!
